Crescent House, Torquay

The Wellington Crescent Torquay project holds a special place in my heart, as it was designed for a close friend, who returned to Torquay after time away.

The block presented unique challenges, with its triangular shape and a significant tree protection zone restricting the placement of the building. However, its generous size of 907 square metres and advantageous northerly orientation made it worthwhile to craft a bespoke solution that would fully meet the owner's needs while maximizing the site's potential.

Designing a home for someone I know very well was a wonderful experience, given our deep understanding of each other's design preferences and also functional requirements. It has been particularly meaningful to both design the home and engineer the project.

The interiors will be thoughtfully curated by the owner, whose passion for design, architecture, and interiors will shine through. The style will embrace the wabi-sabi aesthetic, highlighting natural elements and an intentional simplicity throughout.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, I eagerly await the day when this vision comes to life.
