Wedgetail House

The Wedgetail Project embodies the essence of Spanish-inspired architecture, seamlessly blending elegance and functionality. With striking masonry walls, beautifully arched windows and doors, and charming Juliet balconies, this home brings a timeless Mediterranean aesthetic to life. Internally, carefully selected Spanish feature tiles will further enhance the authentic character of the design.

The block presented unique challenges, with up to 1.2 metres of fill requiring a fully suspended and piered slab, with piers designed to support the full-height masonry walls. Large steel beams were incorporated over the garage to bear the weight of the tiled roof, masonry veneer walls, and timber flooring. These beams were carefully designed with strict deflection limits to prevent cracking in the masonry walls. Additionally, articulation joints were strategically placed to accommodate natural movement within the structure.

Beyond its architectural beauty, the property offers a spacious garden, providing an opportunity for the owners to craft an outdoor retreat that complements the home’s distinctive character.

Scheduled for completion in 2025, progress will be eagerly monitored.
